Billing Coordinator


Startec Global Operating Company a Long Distance Service Provider has an immediate opening at its headquarters in Rockville for a Billing Coordinator. Startec markets long distance and Internet services to ethnic communities in the United States and Canada. The major markets include Asian-Indian, Polish, Russian, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean and Filipino.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating retail and wholesale telecom billing.

Reports to: Billing Manager


Responsibilities:
  • Coordination of retail and wholesale telecommunications billing, including both LEC and direct invoicing
  • Working with Marketing and Information Systems departments to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and messaging
  • Maintenance of billing metrics
  • Review and approval of billing related vendor invoices and wholesale customer disputes
  • Creation of journal entries for Revenue, and billing related costs
  • Resolution of AR exceptions, including returned checks, chargebacks, and misposted payments

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge/familiarity with LEC billing practices
  • Experience with direct invoicing
  • Successful candidates should possess effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to make effective decisions independently
  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Revenue Accounting experience and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus
  • 2-3yrs billing experience in a telecommunications or utilities environment
  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Good general computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience and general knowledge of the telecommunications industry
